Offered for sale is this fabulous antique American Victorian Rococo rosewood Gentleman’s Chair. The chair is in good condition with the orig finish, It has 4 age cracks across back of wood–these are secure. The wood can be further secured with a wood glue. The fabric is original to the chair and gorgeous! The fabric is a damask silk type silver blue; it is in fair to good condition and certainly usable, no holes, tears or stains, but a tad brighter blue in some places not real noticeable. The chair consists of a raised padded show wood back, and open moulded ball arms set above a pair of lateral pierced splats. The conforming serpentine fronted seat is raised on thick cabriole front legs and splayed back legs. The chair is sold with the existing traditional upholstery and turquoise faux leather covering, finished with decorative close nailing. This is a very attractive desk chair, which would add character to a study be it traditional or contemporary.
