We are revamping our personal interior space and need to let some of our favorites go! When we came across these two matching chairs, we loved the French silhouette, the cane used for the back seat, and the fact they are solid wood. However, we knew they must be updated – Florida style 🙂 The original finish had a grainy texture – we tried our best to buff it out, but it was there to stay. So we went with it and sprayed them with several layers of coconut white paint and topped it off with our favorite secret varnish. The seats are recovered in a tropical banana leaf fabric that is protected by Scotch Guard. The cushion is about 1” thick. We estimate the set to be from circa 1950. Given their age, they are structurally sound. However, they are not new and have vintage attributes – please see all photos.
