Set of 5 Five Vintage Thonet Bentwood No. 18 Cafe Chairs Bistro Chairs Vinyl Seats The price is for the 5 chairs. These Thonet bentwood cafe chairs are upholstered with caramel/brown vinyl seats. The Thonet mark is still attached under two of them. These bentwood chairs were the technique produced by Michael Thonet starting in the mid-1800s. After his death in 1871, his family continued to expand with the experimentation and production of bentwood. In the late 1800s Thonet had sales locations throughout Europe, as well as Chicago and New York. These chairs are in good vintage condition, with age appropriate wear. They are structurally stable. A couple of them show split in the wood which is very common for these chairs. On one of the chairs one side of the legs is not bolted into the seat. This does not compromise the stability of the chair. Slight variations on back of chairs – two have a wider back. The patina is beautiful. They are outstanding and timeless. Dimensions: 34 1/2\
