Primitive bow back chairs feature crest shaped, cane seats, spindle backs, turned legs and stretchers, and a rich patina that can only be achieved by gradual wear over a long period of time . Similar to a Windsor, but more rustic farmhouse, cottage chairs. American made, 19th century. Set of five is slightly mis-matched. Two of the seats look more recently caned, in what looks to be traditional methods. The bonus fifth chair has a rounded seat, but still matches in stain and size. One of the chair’s front stretchers are not turned, and may have been replaced at some point with simplified dowels. Will consider splitting set into two separate pairs, contact to discuss.

A lovely vintage, possibly Victorian child’s chair which has been refurbished to bring it more up to date. I sanded the chair back and then waxed it and painted the seat area on top and underneath.
